I am now over with school ! After many years of decisions, also a long break, I went back to school and finally finished my major in East-Asian Studies. My exam for my last class, which was History of South-East Asia, went so much better than expected. I really had a hard time studying, so I was really dreading it. But I think I did well. I won't hide I'm really happy about it being over though.
I'm really glad it's over, but I'm sadly going back to school again in september. I haven't send my admission request yet, but I think I have made my mind for the program I'll go to. I might have talked about it earlier, but since I now have a short 38 days to make my decision and send my admission request, I have to make up my mind. And I do believe it will be anthropology. I know, I know. I'm not making my life easier to find a job here if my Japan plans fall short. But I'm not sure anything will satisfy me here if I'm not in Japan, so I might as well go for the easy and kind of interesting route to get the bachelors so I can get into that plane fast. I'm not sure either how I will manage work (probably around 25 hours a week at last) and 3 university classes by semester, but I will have to do it.
I've had a little time to rest after my exam was over, since I wouldn't have to be overwhelmed with the sheer thought of having to have my face in my notes 100% of my waking moments, so I've picked up my little kanji books again. I know these are like the first 10 kanjis everyone learn, but the books really does start at level one. Of course I know these kanjis, but the number of words I didn't know through the pages of these books for 5-6 year olds is crazy. All these words we do not learn as adults learning a second language ! It's been doing OK though.
I have about 8 months to just work and rest, with no school, to take time for me and hopefully to brush up my japanese.
Holidays are also upon us. We attended my work's christmas dinner last week, and it was very nice. I really enjoy my job and I have a wonderful team to work with as well.
We were invited to an indian fusion restaurant, and I really liked the food ! We had onion bhaji, spicy paneer, some naan bread "pizza" with fig and paneer, mango salad, and other yummy things ! My boss asked me to wear one of my "prette dresses" so I did put on my Silent Moon dress for a little glittery holiday feel <3 I was not happy with the final look too much or the pictures, so I'll just leave one here.
My family is also visiting this week-end, and I'm only half excited, but I suppose that comes with the holidays every year isn't it. (haha)
I'm preparing to spend christmas eve alone, relax at home with my sickness and cold, and also spending the 25th alone. It doesn't bother me much, I really need rest. So, I will probably speak to you all once again next year !
I hope you spend precious time with people you love, friends, or family, and that you get everything you deserve and so much more, and that you are safe and healthy.
