Friday, after my full day at work, we had planned to meet a friend at his optometrist downtown in a fancy little optician shop he visits. I had some questions for the optometrist, and I also wanted to visit their mascot. Thing is, the optometrist has a cute little pug, and Bertha (the pug) is often at the shop with her master to chill around and get friends when customers get in. Sadly, Bertha wasn't there...
We took some time to look at their fabulous collection of avant-garde models of glasses, some made with wood, some with Ferrari car pieces, and many others ! After our glasses modelling time, we decided to stick together, me and my two friends, and go grab something to eat. Took us some time to figure out where to head up but we decided to go up north downtown to try some fancy poutine for #PoutineWeek ! (But, Dahlia, WTF is "poutine" ? Check it out here !)
We ended up at Sesame, close to Atwater market, by Lionel-Groulx Station. They serve some asian and asian fusion food, and have a nice warm atmosphere. All three of us decided on some different type of poutine so we can try all of them ! Their special #PoutineWeek creation was the Chinese Fondue poutine, with some thinly sliced beef, broccoli and a thin sauce over the cheese and fries, while my other friend had the General Tao Chicken poutine, and I ended up with the "Orenji", cripsy beef and orange sauce and basilic poutine ! I also had a yuzu and ginger beverage, which was fragrant and delicious.
Orenji poutine !
We talked a lot, and ended up in the brisk cold night splitting up to go back home to sleep. Because I was meeting with one of these same friends this morning at 10h am for brunch !
I got up late. I was very tired, since I went to bed late after our night out yesterday. Gathered up my strength (and downed a coffee) and went out under the cute snow to go meet with my two girl friends this time on the Plateau Mont Royal for our brunch. Meeting place was Fabergé . Arrived 15 minutes late, already sleepy (haha). Got a very necessary coffee, yummy mochaccino and everyone ordered amazingly delicious and special menu items.
On our table was PB&J, some peanut butter sandwich made a la french toast, topped with some strawberry coulis. My other friend went with macaroni and cheese croquettes topped with egg benedict, and I went down with my reason of my presence there, the southern classic chicken and waffle.
Surprisingly, the chicken was delicious with some syrup ! The waffles were fluffy and thick, and chicken moist and crispy too ! It was all very big, and I couldn't finish my plate, but every bite was very worth it.
Previously planned afternoon was our visit to the Museum for their special "exposition". It is in fact an experience exposition, where they installed electric bass and electric guitars (Les Pauls and Thunderbird !) in a room, plugged to sound systems, and leave the birds free to go around the large room. The result : birds will go around and perch on guitar or bass strings, and create sounds, that create "music". It was very cute and beautiful ! The birds were mandarin finches, and it was very nice to see them up close. They even ate and drank into reversed drum cymbals ! We were not allowed to take pictures but.... I live life on the edge. So here are some sneaky shaky pictures to give you an idea !
After the museum, we went to the mall to check on some sales for my friend, and I ended up at Shiseido counter to see if they had any promotions going on as I wanted to get some skin care products. The lady showed me some new product but it was way too expensive. So I got a nice moisturizing gel that will help my skin be well nourished and pretty. (Well, hopefully) I didn't spend enough for their gift with purchase (after 75$) but the lady gave it to me anyways. So I got a little pouch with some make-up remover, night cream and rejuvenating gel.
I will try and update how my skin feels after I've used it for a while !
For now, I am still waiting for news from school to see if I have been accepted. I'm also searching for a small birthday gift for Mana様. I hope I can find a nice one on time to send it ! I think we should send support after what happened with the Gothic&Lolita Bible.
So, keep an eye for my Youtube channel too, as I will try and update it ! Subtitles available too (Japanese and English and French !)
